Who we are

This website, https://historyscapes.uk on the WordPress platform, is managed from the University of Exeter as part of the HistoryScapes collaboration between the university and the National Trust.

Your data

This website collects anonymised, aggregated data on site usage. Individuals and their navigation of the site cannot be identified. For visitor comments, see below.

Comments

If visitors leave comments on the Contact page we collect the content in the message form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. This ‘personal data’ (IP address) does not allow the identification of individuals.

Who we share your data with

Anonymised data (stripped of IP address in the case of message form submissions) may be extracted by the site manager and shared with members of the HistoryScapes team at the University of Exeter and National Trust. This data is stored in protected Sharepoint accounts linked to HistoryScapes at these organisations.

How long we retain your data

Anonymised, aggregated site usage data are retained indefinitely. If you leave a comment in the message form, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely.

What rights you have over your data

All collected data is anonymous and does not permit the identification of individuals. You therefore cannot withdraw or modify comments once submitted.
